Experience freedom from drugs

hawaii drug rehabAlcoholism and drug abuse is the nation's largest health problem, and Hawaii is no exception. Right now there are more than 23 million people in America who are in need of effective alcohol or drug rehab and addiction treatment. If you're in Hawaii and have a problem with drugs or alcohol or know someone who does, contact Paradise Drug Rehab for help.

In 2003, there were over 6,100 admissions to drug rehab and addiction treatment facilities in Hawaii, which is down from more than 6,400 admissions in 2001. More than half of the clients entering drug rehab started using drugs before the age of 18 and had never been to a drug rehab or addiction treatment center previously.

Alcoholism and drug use leads to criminality in most cases and many people in Hawaii going through alcohol or drug treatment have legal charges. The good news is that an effective drug rehab program can help you or your loved one get back on track to leading a normal, happy and drug-free life and put your past behind you.

Additional 2002-2003 data indicate that 1.7 percent of Hawaii citizens reported past year dependence on illicit drugs. Approximately 17.8 percent of Hawaii middle school students and 28.7 percent of high school students reported being offered, sold, or given an illegal drug on school property within the past year.

During 2004, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) reported making 76 arrests for drug violations in Hawaii. From January to June 2004, there were 583 adult arrests in Hawaii for possession of non-narcotic drugs, which includes crystal methamphetamine (ice). During full year 2003, there were 996 such arrests.

An initiative of the Hawaii Lt. Governor's Office, the mission of the Hawaii Drug Control Plan is to reduce harm to the community by responding to the prevention, treatment, and law enforcement needs associated with illicit drug use, underage drinking, and drug distribution.
