Most of the illicit drugs available in Delaware are transported from Philadelphia and New York City. Delaware is within easy driving distance of Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, and Washington, D.C., all of which are major drug distribution centers. Interstate 95 provides direct access from Delaware to these and other cities. The Port of Wilmington is Delaware's principal seaport. Colombian drug trafficking organizations occasionally smuggle drugs, usually cocaine, through the Port to other cities, but seizures at the Port of Wilmington remain low.
